This is wonderful writing, as you come to expect from Doug Johnstone and a brave leap into science fiction which he pulls off brilliantly. The ending is a huge cliffhanger which brilliantly sets up the next in the series and leaves you wanting to know what happens next. There are some mesmerising descriptions connected with Sandy, full of colour and light. The result of meeting Sandy is literally life changing for them.īeing isolated and making connections for others are themes which stand out through the thoughts and actions of all the characters. They are all complicated, with something they would like to escape from. Lennox, Ava and Heather are all such interesting characters and become an unlikely family of sorts. The pace of the story carries you along and you are always wondering what will happen next and would the runaways be found and by whom. I can understand why the BBC have selected The Space Between Us for their Between the Covers series 2023. And Sandy’sĪrrival may have implications beyond anything anyone could imagine. Other than that you all must read it :) Because it is amazing. This book reminded me a whole lot of a few other books that I love, but I guess that couldn't be helped p I really did like those parts, though :Dĭon't want to say much more about this book. ![]() I also really liked Raymie :D Don't won't to spoil her for you, but she is awesome. I can't help it I love the broken boys :) But he was also beautiful, kind, honest and just amazing. But oh, that just made me love him even more. More broken than I have ever read before. Although kind of hating the name (A) lol. But that's okay I still loved her :DĪnd oh. Even though she didn't feel too much in most of the book. I didn't really love the setting of Hell, but I didn't hate it, either :) I liked all the characters except for a few obvious ones. I wanted this book because of the beautiful cover, and well, the summary did sound awesome as well ) Critic Reviews Positive: 1 out of 1 Mixed: 0 Negative: 0 Hey Poor Player 80 The Space in Between can be completed in less than an hour, but it’s the quality of the writing, the beauty of the aesthetics, and the importance of its message that make it feel like a much longer experience. But because it was a bit hard to read in the beginning, it only gets a four star (A) But oh, it is a good four star.
